Multiskilled Engineer (Electrical)
Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a Multiskilled Engineer (Electrical) to work on behalf of our Burnley General Teaching Hospital contract in Burnley. This permanent, full‑time (40 hr/week) role offers a competitive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities
* Help ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations.
* Diagnose, fault‑find, commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance through Planned Preventive Maintenance, identifying any additional works required.
* Assist in installing, commissioning, and servicing plant, equipment and industrial furniture.
* Carry out planned/reactive maintenance on on‑site systems and administer relevant paperwork.
* Participate in the on‑call rota and flexible working hours, including overtime where required.
* Maintain a smart appearance and professional manner representative of Equans.
* Work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion.
* Ensure all issues are reported to the Technical Services Supervisor/Manager.
* Collaborate with the team to organise works in a timely manner and submit clear reports.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Electrical apprenticeship and/or qualifications; full‑qualified electrician, qualified to IEE 17th/18th edition.
* Experience with lighting, small power, low‑voltage distribution, switch‑gear, emergency standby generators and building management systems.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and risk assessment; ability to work safely with equipment.
* Ability to follow instruction, work to plans (method statements), communicate, present and report technical information.
* Valid UK driving licence and DBS check.
* Experience working within a healthcare environment is preferred.
* City & Guilds 2392 – Inspection & Testing or equivalent (desirable).
