The aim of the job is to assist with my morning routine enabling me to start the day off and live an independent life. I am a male in my mid 30’s and paralysed from the shoulder down having suffered a spinal cord injury. This means that I require assistance in all aspects of my life.
Responsibilities
* Assist with a variety of tasks including basic moving and handling tasks, transfers from bed to chair and vice versa, and personal care duties like washing/brushing teeth etc.
* Provide support for 3 hours each morning from 8.15am, ideally 4 mornings per week with occasional weekend work.
Qualifications
* Good listener, able to work with others, reliable and punctual.
* Physically capable of carrying out moving and handling duties.
* Willingness to learn on the job after paid shadow shifts.
* Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme or willingness to join.
