We're looking for a Principal Legal Counsel (Property) to lead the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused legal services across our organisation. You'll provide strategic direction and expert advice on property, development, leasehold management and conveyancing, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. Your insight will help shape decisions that are legally robust, commercially sound, and aligned with our long-term goals. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexibility built in. You'll be based at one of our main offices in Bristol, Tewkesbury or Norwich, with some travel across our geography and the option to work from home regularly. What you'll be doing Leading the delivery of high-quality legal services across property, development, leasehold and conveyancing Providing strategic legal advice that supports effective, compliant decision-making Managing legal risk and ensuring policies and frameworks support ethical, efficient operations Leading and developing a high-performing legal team Managing budgets, external legal spend and procurement to ensure value for money Building strong relationships across the business and with external partners Driving continuous improvement, innovation and the effective use of technology What we're looking for A qualified lawyer with extensive post-qualification experience leading an in-house or private practice property team Strong technical expertise in property law, development, leasehold management and conveyancing Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers Experience managing budgets and external legal providers to deliver efficiency and value A collaborative, forward-thinking professional committed to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement Able to complete a basic DBS and consumer check If you're an experienced property lawyer with strong leadership skills and a passion for enabling people to thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
