Robert Half Ltd is working exclusively and on a retained basis with a multi-billion-pound Global company based in Milton Keynes seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant on a Hybrid based with a future route to the Head of Finance & Accounting role as success planning.
We are seeking an individual that is experienced in maintaining strong financial controls over the balance sheet including accruals, provisions, working capital, liquidity, fixed assets, IFRS 16 leasing accounting

Role Purpose
The purpose of a financial accountant is to be a valued member of the finance team, who takes a lead on managing, analysing and reporting on the company's financial activities. They will ensure that financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards and regulations by championing a strong framework of financial controls and processes.
Role Responsibilities
1. Reports to the Head of Finance & Accounting
2. Deputising for the Head of Finance & Accounting in their absence
3. Work closely with the FP&A team and other departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting under Group Guidelines / IFRS (monthly, quarterly and yearly)
4. Close collaboration with FP&A team to ensure a strong mutual understanding of business performance and support in planning / forecasting process
5. Monitoring of legislation around accounting, tax, payroll to ensure ongoing awareness and compliance
6. Responsibility for the statutory external audit; ownership of the audit process from company side to ensure smooth and timely resolution of any issues through to completion
7. Production of Statutory Accounts for all companies
8. Maintain strong financial controls over the balance sheet including accruals, provisions, working capital, liquidity, fixed assets, IFRS 16 leasing accounting
9. Carry out the stock takes to a high standard reporting on any variances and driving improvements
Role Requirements
10. Educated to degree or above, preferably in finance related subject
11. ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified
12. Experience in tax and audit
13. Strong technical accounting skills (transfer pricing, corporation tax, IFRS, VAT, Income Tax and statutory reporting) essential
14. IT literate, strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
15. SAP experience desirable
16. Demonstrable commercial business acumen (e.g. products and processes) and a sound understanding of financial controls
17. Excellent relationship building and communication skills
18. Experience in a similar role
