Housing Officer – Social Housing
Location: Manchester
Contract: 3–6 Months Temporary (Strong Potential to Go Permanent)
Start Date: 5th January
Working Pattern: Hybrid (Home Working & Estate Visits)
We are partnering with a well-regarded Housing Association in Manchester who are looking to appoint an experienced Housing Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in neighbourhood management and tenancy support who can make an immediate impact.
Role Overview
As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality neighbourhood management service across a defined patch. You will work closely with residents to support tenancy sustainment, resolve tenancy-related issues, and contribute to the development of safe, well-managed communities.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a patch of general needs properties
*
Carry out tenancy sign-ups, home visits, and tenancy reviews
*
Handle low to medium-level ASB cases, safeguarding concerns, and tenancy breaches
*
Support residents with tenancy sustainment and early-intervention strategies
*
Work collaboratively with contractors, partner agencies, and internal teams
*
Conduct estate inspections and ensure communal areas are maintained
*
Prepare documentation, case notes, and attend meetings as required
About You
*
Previous experience as a Housing Officer, Neighbourhood Officer, or similar (minimum 12–18 months)
*
Strong knowledge of tenancy management, housing legislation, and housing sector best practice
*
Confident lone-working and managing a varied caseload
*
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
*
Experience working with vulnerable residents and external partner agencies
*
Able to start on 5th January with no notice restrictions
