Job Summary

St Albans. This contract role is open for 10 months of work, starting in June 2026. This role focuses on workplace interior design across commercial office projects. The position is based in St Albans within the interior design sector. You will manage projects from initial client brief through to final delivery stages. The role involves collaboration with sales teams to secure and develop new opportunities. You will produce detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD and develop 3D concepts in SketchUp.

The position requires regular client interaction, presentations, and design pitches. You will also manage budgets and coordinate suppliers to meet project targets. Site visits form a key part of ensuring delivery aligns with design intent. This role suits a confident designer with strong technical and client-facing skills. The contract is expected to run for approximately ten months starting from June.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Lead workplace interior design projects from initial client brief through to final delivery stages
2. Produce detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD to support design intent and construction accuracy
3. Develop 3D visualisations and concept models using SketchUp for client presentations
4. Collaborate with sales teams to support project pitches and secure new business opportunities
5. Manage FF&E selection and specification to align with design concepts and client requirements
6. Coordinate contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
7. Undertake site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications
8. Manage project budgets and assist with cost planning to maintain financial control

Skills & Experience Required

9. Minimum seven years experience within workplace or commercial interior design environments
10. Degree qualification in interior design or a closely related design discipline preferred
11. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings
12. Experience using SketchUp for 3D modelling and visual presentation development
13. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite for design communication and presentation tasks
14. Proven experience managing FF&E selection and specification across commercial projects
15. Ability to confidently present design concepts and pitch ideas directly to clients
16. Full UK driving licence preferred to support site visits and project coordination requirements

Salary & Benefits

17. £40,000 to £45,000 pro rata depending on experience
18. Bonus relating to project turnover
