Job Description
We are looking for a Lecturer in Electrical Installation to coordinate designated study programme delivery activities for the College. This includes delivering high-quality teaching, managing day-to-day operational issues, exams, and timetabling, ensuring consistency across sites if needed. The successful candidate will inspire students through outstanding teaching, motivate them to excel, and develop their English, Maths, and employability skills, with regular target setting and progress monitoring.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
1. Teaching and Curriculum Delivery: Deliver high-quality teaching aligned with College standards and external validating bodies. Prepare materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans. Develop and implement curriculum updates, assess student work, monitor progress, and maintain statutory compliance including safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.
2. Course Management: Handle communication, problem-solving, timetable management, cover arrangements, work experience, internal verification, and administrative tasks to ensure cross-site compliance.
3. Recruitment and Enrolment: Assist with recruiting, managing enrolments, and organizing induction programs to ensure correct course placement.
4. Student Support: Conduct regular meetings, set SMART targets, assist with UCAS references, support pastoral and academic needs, and liaise with college services.
5. Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee attendance, results, and course performance, and implement action plans as needed.
6. English and Maths Support: Promote and support English and Maths learning, monitor attendance, and facilitate student movement to these lessons.
7. Meetings and Development: Attend and contribute to meetings, parent evenings, and CPD events. Mentor new lecturers and participate in quality assurance activities.
8. Administration: Manage registers, update records, produce reports, and publish materials on the VLE.
9. College Committees: Participate in college meetings, committees, and quality assurance processes.
