Overview
Are you passionate about the delivery of high-quality nursing care in a Wound Clinic setting? Do wound healing and wound aetiology fascinate you? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate Nurse to join the DCHS Wound Clinic Service in South Derbyshire, working from Swadlincote and Repton, with occasional support to other wound clinics across Derbyshire.
Working hours are 08:30–16:30, Monday–Friday, with weekend and Bank Holiday cover as required.
Responsibilities
* Assess, review and complete wound care for patients.
* Develop and implement a plan of care using wound care policies and pathways, and the wound care dressings formulary for DCHS.
* Liaise with the Wound Clinic Lead Nurse and Tissue Viability specialists as indicated.
* Provide holistic assessment of patients’ needs and make onward referrals where required.
* Ensure safeguarding needs are met and escalated where indicated.
* Support junior staff and students in achieving their learning outcomes.
* Support the Wound Clinic Lead Nurse and provide cover when needed.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the service and opportunities for academic learning and career progression.

About the service
The service provides community health care to a large population across Derbyshire and Derby, with a focus on elderly care and care in the community. You will be joining a professional, skilled and friendly team who work safely with patients in a community setting and in clinics, GP practices, schools and care homes, including home visits and virtual consultations where appropriate.
