You will be training one day a week with Apprentices from across other Merseyside Councils and will shadow staff for the remainder of the week to continue your learning in the field. Over the course of your apprenticeship, you will develop the confidence to take on your own caseload of housing disrepair cases to resolve under the guidance of more senior officers.

About the candidate
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, keen to learn, and is customer focused whilst being a team player with confidence to work within a regulatory environment. This is an area where legislation is changing to protect tenants in poor quality housing, and it could be the opportunity to start an interesting and rewarding career path for you. Wirral Council offer ongoing career progression opportunities for those looking to develop their career in Housing Standards Enforcement in a supportive but fast paced environment.
If your skills, knowledge, or experience look a little different from what we have identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we may explore a traineeship for this role, subject to skills and experience within the candidate pool.
