We’re seeking a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to join our Slough Community Mental Health Pathways Service. We are a multi-disciplinary integrated health and social care team, delivering joined-up support to adults with a huge range of mental health needs from moderate to complex, including psychosis, in a population that can face significant health inequalities. Our Slough team offer a rich & rewarding clinical environment. We’ve an exceptional co-production network and prevention offering. This includes an in-house recovery college and a team of 17 volunteer peer mentors working within harder-to-reach communities. You’ll use your leadership skills to mentor & supervise junior doctors and senior colleagues, plus lead quality improvement initiatives and service developments.
Duties
You’ll provide senior clinical leadership within an integrated community mental health service covering both CMHT Pathways and MHICS, working closely with health, social care and voluntary sector partners. Key duties include:
* Managing an outpatient caseload of adults with severe, complex and diverse mental health needs
* Acting as Responsible Clinician, including Mental Health Act work and Community Treatment Orders
* Leading and contributing to MDT allocation and clinical decision-making
* Providing supervision, mentoring and leadership to junior doctors and SAS colleagues
* Working with senior managers on service development, CQC preparation and Royal College accreditation
* Supporting quality improvement, co-production, teaching and clinical governance
The role is based at New Horizons, Slough, with community work and some flexible/remote working where appropriate.
£15,000 Recruitment and Retention premium is available for external applicants and £8,000 Relocation allowance where applicable.
