About the PMLD Teaching Role:
As a PMLD Teacher, you will deliver bespoke learning programmes tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure the educational, emotional, and physical development of learners, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of a PMLD Teacher:
* Plan and deliver highly personalised lessons, incorporating sensory and therapeutic approaches.
* Use a range of communication methods, including Makaton, PECS, or AAC, to engage and support students.
* Monitor and assess progress, maintaining detailed records and adjusting plans to meet individual needs.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide a holistic approach to education.
* Promote independence, life skills, and self-confidence in students.
The successful PMLD Teaching candidate will have:
* Experience working with children or young people with PMLD.
* Knowledge of strategies and resources for supporting students with sensory and physical disabilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
* Resilience and creativity in adapting to the unique challenges of working with PMLD students.

* Full time/Part time: Full time only
* Minimum Rate of Pay: Paid to Scale

Experience, Training & Qualifications:
* Personal or professional experience supporting complex needs
* Up to date Safeguarding certificate within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
* Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
