Technical Manager – Fire and Security (ADT)
What you will do
Support the delivery of excellent customer experience through focused technical support to sales and operational teams. How you will do it
* Drive quality and technical competence through collaboration and engagement to improve operations (efficiency and customer focus).
* Lead and coordinate teams to develop process improvements; work with technical management and product management on technical bulletins; liaise with Process Excellence on projects.
* Provide technical support and guidance to field staff; identify common issues, root causes, and develop mistake-proofed solutions.
* Conduct site reviews and technical audits to ensure compliance with standards and excellence in customer solutions.
* Support internal audits, non-conformance follow-up, and retention of accreditations (ISO 9001, etc.).
* Assist operational teams with pre-installation support regarding software and graphics to optimize product use.
* Maintain a nationwide skills matrix through regular training and assessments to support operational excellence.
* Assist in the development and training for new and future products, ensuring quality and training needs are met.
* Support the apprentice program in recruitment, development, and assessment; develop a common learning platform.
* Develop core competencies for sales and operations to ensure regulatory compliance, operational improvements, and customer service enhancement.
* Collaborate with Learning and Development to deliver innovative technical training.
* Support the Engineer Development Review process to assess engineer competencies.
* Liaise with IT to enhance software use for field operatives.
* Provide input to Marketing and Purchasing on product deficiencies.
* Promote Zero Harm culture through meetings, audits, safety talks, and incident reviews.
What we look for
* Experience in the security industry.
* IOSH Managing Safely certification.
* Proven problem-solving ability in electro-technical environments.
* Knowledge of Intruder, Fire, CCTV, Access Control, and EAS systems (wired and radio-based).
* Experience in QHSE auditing and site safety (SSSTS/CITB certification).
* Excellent communication skills at senior management and customer levels.
* Proactive decision-making and innovative thinking to improve quality management and productivity.
