GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a school in Derby. This role provides an excellent opportunity to support pupils in managing behaviour, enhancing engagement, and fostering a positive learning environment. Role Overview: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils’ behavioural, emotional, and social development. You will provide targeted support, implement behaviour strategies, and help pupils achieve their full potential. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will: Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Implement behaviour management strategies as directed by teaching staff. Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons and school activities. Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils requiring additional assistance. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development. Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare. Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant: Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting. Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviour and remain calm under pressure. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and external professionals. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
