Your New Role:
You’ll be leading and managing a variety of residential projects, helping to restore properties that have been damaged by insured events like fire, flood, or structural issues. Project values typically range from £50k to £5m. Depending on the size and complexity, you might work independently or alongside a small team of Quantity Surveyors, CAD technicians, and engineers.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Writing clear technical reports
* Diagnosing building defects
* Preparing Schedules of Works
* Managing contracts and overseeing repairs
* Supporting clients who may be going through difficult times
You’ll need to juggle multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and make confident decisions under pressure. It’s a role that requires empathy, professionalism, and a strong technical foundation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Carrying out site inspections and defect analysis
* Leading projects from survey through to completion
* Managing contractors and ensuring quality delivery
* Working closely with insurers, policyholders, and other professionals
* Helping clients navigate the claims and repair process
What You’ll Bring:
* Direct experience working on insurance-related building claims – this is essential
* A full UK driving licence – you’ll be out and about regularly
* Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
* Strong knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation
* Chartered status (MRICS or MCIOB), or actively working towards it
What You’ll Learn:
* Full training on Sedgwick systems and processes
* Ongoing support for CPD and professional qualifications
* Exposure to a wide range of projects – from UK flood recovery to international disaster response
