An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 6 Specialist Nurse to join an enthusiastic, forward thinking, multidisciplinary team, based with Newbridges.
Newbridges is an 18 bedded male unit. Patients nursed at Newbridges are often experiencing acute episodes of mental ill health requiring a range of specialist interventions provided by the team.
Main duties of the job
As a valued staff member you can expect to receive a comprehensive induction into the trust and to the team. A bespoke training passport has been developed for all Avondale staff. Staff wellbeing and support is very important to us and we have various embedded systems in place to promote this, including regular clinical and managerial supervision, weekly reflective practice, team discussions after all shifts and 6 monthly team away days.
As a Specialist Nurse at Newbridges you will be an integral part of the Multidisciplinary Team providing a high level of specialist care, working within a trauma informed model of care. You will be expected to provide high levels of both clinical and professional leadership, supporting the management team to implement both clinical and operational policies, protocols and service/practice developmental change.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion
* IT skills for learning systems required for role e.g. electronic patient record, clinical stock ordering systems, incident reporting systems.
* Evidence of project work that has impacted on practice and demonstrates a higher level of communication/planning/change that impacts within own area of work/responsibility
Experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist level of care
* Evidence of development of specialist practice nursing skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
* Demonstrable experience of working in the specific field where the post is held
Qualifications
* Registered Adult Nurse Part III or 13 of NMC live register
* Demonstrable experience of mentoring pre-registration students
* Leadership training/qualification/experience
Skills and Competencies
* Effective inter-personal skills and experience in supervising and mentoring
* Ability to lead and motivate staff to embrace change
