Our advanced manufacturing site in Telford is one of our main processing facilities, processing up to 1.5 million birds per week. There are over 1,200 people employed at our Telford site, delivering high quality products to our customers. We have invested in technology and equipment to support industry-leading manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* Review hygiene staffing levels, including planning and implementation of workplace rosters.
* Complete all relevant information and bookings on the TMS system in the absence of the Hygiene Manager.
* Carry out the deep cleaning of production equipment and hygiene equipment over weekends as per the current cleaning schedule, including environmental cleaning.
* Liaise with Departmental Managers regarding changes to the production plan/equipment availability and schedule hygiene resource to meet the cleaning schedule.
* Ensure all Avara hygiene standards are trained and maintained; ensure staff complete cleaning schedules to the required time specifications and standards.
* Apply company procedures and policies within the hygiene department.
* Review swab results and investigate repeat fails; implement corrective actions.
* Coordinate with Engineering to review outstanding actions/repairs and ensure post-engineering cleans are performed to standard.
* Establish effective handovers between shifts; identify and record all issues on the hygiene shift report and communicate verbally.
* Oversee correct chemical application and quantities, including chemical titration checks.
* Ensure hygiene equipment is available to meet business demands and the cleaning schedule.
* Provide holiday/absence cover for Hygiene Manager.
* Oversee Hygiene audits and implement improvements and corrective actions.
What do I need to be successful?
Essential
* Experienced Hygiene Operative.
* Experience of working within an FMCG environment.
* Supervisory experience.
* Knowledge of BRCGS.
Desirable
* General understanding of basic food microbiology.
* Experience of poultry processing industry.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
* Knowledge of COSHH.
