Toprovideatemporaryaccommodationserviceforhouseholdswhomthecouncilhasastatutoryhomelessnessresponsibilityfor.Theseincludebothfamilieswithchildrenandsinglepeople.
Toprovideaco-ordinatedendtoendsupportservicetohomelesscustomers,fromthepointtheyareplacedintemporaryaccommodation,towhentheymoveontopermanenthousing.
Temporaryaccommodationservice
Tomanageacaseloadofhouseholdsintemporaryaccommodation,whosehomelessapplicationiseitherbeinginvestigatedorhasbeenacceptedbythecouncil.
Tocontactnewoccupantswithintwoweeksofmovingin,beassuredthatthecustomerhassettledintotheirtemporaryaccommodationandsetupallappropriatebenefitstoensurepaymentoftheirrent.
Tocarryoutregularpropertyvisitsinordertomonitorthequalityofaccommodation,checkcompliancewithHealthandSafetystandards,andconfirmoccupancy.
Toensurethecustomerisproactivelycontactedonaregularbasiswhilsttheyresideintemporaryaccommodationandtokeepaccuraterecordsofallinteractions.
Tomonitortheperformanceofmanagingagentstoensurethatminimumpropertystandardsaremaintainedandensurecorrectiveactionistakenwherenecessary.
Tokeepuptodatevoidsinformation,andliaisewithallocationsofficersandaccommodationproviderstoensuresocialhousingvoidsarefilledwithinsettimescalesandtocompleteallnecessaryadminprocessesinrespectofnewplacementsintotemporaryaccommodation.
Tomakeallnecessaryarrangementstotransfercustomerstoalternativetemporaryaccommodation,conductingsuitabilityassessments(beforeanyoffersofhousing)andwhereappropriate,includinginterviewingandsigningupcustomers.
