Job Responsibilities
1. Support and lead the operation and promotion of an integrated management system, fostering a proactive environmental, health, and safety culture across operational teams. Utilize Sodexo management system policies and procedures, including risk assessment, accident prevention, health & safety initiatives, and personal responsibility.
2. Facilitate the development and implementation of the HSEQ committee.
3. Coordinate the Safety walk program for the ESNEFT contract.
4. Manage environmental health, safety, and well-being through systems, audits, inspections, and by establishing high standards and expectations for service excellence and safety awareness among employees.
5. Ensure the Health & Safety Management System aligns with ISO 45001 standards and that the quality review process is implemented, integrating with the company Quality system as needed.
6. Promote compliance with the Sodexo Integrated Audit Management System for Healthcare contracts, ensuring all units are audited biannually through effective deployment of the system.
7. Report on performance in Health & Safety and Food Safety audits during management review meetings, and utilize this forum for continuous improvement.
8. Advise managers and employees on environmental and health and safety obligations and responsibilities, providing practical advice on best practices.
9. Assist in delivering operational technical training in collaboration with the Learning and Development Manager to foster a positive health and safety culture.
10. Coordinate technical training and competency development related to food safety, pest control, environmental practices, operational methods, personnel practices, and hygiene standards.
11. Monitor claims trends with the National Claims Lead and prepare reports for senior leadership.
12. Support the Head of Safety & Risk in implementing Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment strategies at the site level.
13. Encourage timely reporting of accidents and incidents in accordance with the Incident Reporting and Investigation process.
14. Promote Sodexo's Zero Harm mindset among colleagues.
15. Support due diligence and corporate responsibility through effective communication and influence at all staff levels.
16. Manage client relationships and expectations, maintaining proactive communication with clients, the Sodexo Healthcare HSE Team, subcontractors, and customers.
17. Ensure compliance with all company, contract, documentation, audit, and administrative procedures to company standards.
18. Maintain legislative compliance, ensuring all HSE aspects adhere to statutory requirements and Codes of Practice.
19. Assist the Health and Safety and Quality Management teams in updating the Food Safety Management System to reflect current legislation, NHS best practices, and company policies.
20. Investigate health and safety and food safety issues within contracts and the wider segment as needed.
21. Oversee and manage all software systems used for Health & Safety Management across the organization, advising on their suitability and development needs.
