West Yorkshire Police are seeking to appoint Vetting Officers to join the Force Vetting Unit based at Brighouse or a yet to be identified new office (potentially West side of the force). In this role, you will support the Senior Vetting Officer in protecting the organisation by the provision of an effective vetting service which complies with the Vetting Code of Practice.
The successful candidate will eventually need to have an excellent knowledge of the Vetting Authorised Professional Practise(APP) and the Vetting Code of Practise. They must understand the principles of the NDM and apply detailed rationale to vetting cases of concern.
They will required to have the ability to extract, analyse and identify any gaps in information from a number of sources and provide detailed summaries of their findings. Previous office / administration experience, and basic knowledge of and ability to operate computer systems such as Microsoft Office is essential.
You will be able to work at other locations throughout the Force as required, and must be willing and able to travel throughout the Force for business purposes. You will also be subject to advanced personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
