Customer Service Advisor - Temporary Role (ASAP - 31 July 2025)
Location: DVSA, The Lightbox, Quorum Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EU
Pay Rate: £13.04 per hour - weekly pay
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch 4 days/week, 1-hour lunch 1 day/week)
Office Based: 100% On-site
Are you a confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment? We're looking for a Temporary Customer Service Advisor to join the team at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) in Newcastle.
This is a customer service-heavy role, involving a high volume of telephone calls and interaction with both internal and external stakeholders. You'll need to be someone who enjoys helping others, can stay calm under pressure, and is comfortable following procedures while using your initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
* Answering a high volume of customer service calls - this is a call-centre-style environment
* Providing accurate advice and support to customers and stakeholders
* Analysing reports and monitoring compliance with agreements
* Processing test results and updates to support driver examiner services
* Managing mail distribution, printing, and office supplies
* Conducting licence entitlement checks and reviewing data
* Preparing standard correspondence and overseeing routine admin tasks
What We're Looking For:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Confident handling high volumes of customer contact
* Organised and able to manage workloads to meet tight deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with data entry and systems
