An exciting opportunity is available for a Bank (casual) Helpline Operator at Epilepsy Society. You will join our friendly Helpline team, providing emotional support, and information about epilepsy, via telephone, email, and webchat. A bit about the role The helpline provides a confidential service giving up-to-date information and offering emotional support, using counselling skills, to anyone affected by epilepsy. You could be speaking to a health professional, someone with the condition themselves, or close family members. Challenging, but rewarding this role will develop your understanding of epilepsy and give you a whole new set of skills for professional and self-development. Once trained you will need to be available to work for at least two shifts a week, Monday to Saturday: either 8.45am to 12.45pm, 12.15pm to 4.15pm or 3.45pm to 7.45pm. Flexibility is required with shift patterns. We operate hybrid working arrangements, some shifts must be taken in the office based in Chalfont St Peter and some will be taken from home. Equipment will be provided, but a confidential home workspace is essential. Extensive training will be given, including a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling, along with support before you take calls independently.
