Maintenance Engineer
Location: Tamworth
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Hours: Days, Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00, Friday 08:00 - 14:30

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of production equipment, CNC machinery, and site infrastructure within a precision engineering environment.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, and improvement activity across a busy manufacturing site. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver and maintain the planned preventative maintenance schedule.
* Diagnose and repair machine faults to minimise downtime.
* Carry out corrective maintenance, part replacement, and machine adjustments.
* Monitor machine performance and breakdown trends, recommending reliability improvements.
* Support process optimisation, machine upgrades, and tooling improvements.
* Work with production to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, calibration certificates, and spare parts tracking.
* Ensure all maintenance work complies with ISO standards and site requirements.
* Support audits by providing maintenance history and compliance documentation.
* Manage contractors on site and ensure RAMS are in place.
* Support the installation of new equipment.
* Carry out weekly fire alarm checks.
* Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture at all times.
What we are looking for
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within precision engineering, machining, or a similar manufacturing environment.
* Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
* Experience with CNC machinery.
* Confident working independently and managing multiple priorities.
* Experience with TPM, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement initiatives.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
