Job Details Brighton College Prep School is seeking Post-Graduate Assistant Teachers of Physical Education and Games to start in August 2024. This is a fixed-term post of one year, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. We are looking for graduates who are passionate about sport, have a love of learning and who wish to share that passion with enthusiastic and energetic young people. We are looking for graduates with excellent administrative skills, patience and flexibility who are also willing to undertake essential routine administrative tasks across the whole department. The posts would best suit those considering a teaching or coaching career, although no teaching experience or qualification is required. The posts may involve some or all of the following tasks: Teaching P.E. to pupils in Reception to Year 8. Assisting with the teaching of swimming to pupils in Years 1-6. Coaching teams and games sessions from Years 3-8 as appropriate in netball, hockey, tennis, athletics, football, rugby and cricket (including some weekend fixtures). Officiating as appropriate in netball, hockey, tennis, athletics, football, rugby and cricket. Team teaching and assisting experienced subject teachers in classroom situations. Running or assisting with extra-curricular activities as required. Assisting with weekly departmental administration (experience in using SOCS desirable). Assisting with the organisation of swimming galas, sports days and tournaments. Undertaking school duties. Being a full member of the teaching staff. SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILTIES: This role will involve daily contact with pupils, and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. All staff and volunteers have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. HOURS: Core hours will be 42.5 per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day, Monday to Friday inclusive. You will work term-time only (35 weeks).
