Due to the exciting expansion of our school site to include a ASD Resource base Nursery and ASD Resource base Reception class, we are searching for the right candidate to teach our new Reception class.
The right candidate will:
* Carry out the professional duties of a teacher plus any other duties that can be reasonably asked under the direction of the Head of ARP and Head Teacher.
* To provide a stimulating curriculum which develops and celebrates all of our pupil’s abilities helping to ensure that pupils at Griffin become confident and successful learners.
* To ensure that the needs of pupils who have an autism diagnosis and attend our ARP are met.
* To proactively support the ethos of the school alongside the leadership team by maintaining professional conduct (e.g. engaging in meetings, meeting deadlines, responding to pressure in a productive manner)
* To assist the Head of ARP and Headteacher in the establishment and maintenance of good relationships through effective communication and consultation procedures with the whole school community.
Core Experience
* Proven Experience with SEND: Demonstrable history of working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in an educational or specialist setting.
* Specialist Condition Knowledge: Deep understanding of specific needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
* EHCP Implementation: Proven track record of understanding, implementing, and tracking targets outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Multi-Agency Collaboration: Experience liaising and working collaboratively with external professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), Occupational Therapists (OT), Educational Psychologists, and parents/carers.
* Crisis & De-escalation: Experience utilising recognised positive handling, crisis prevention, or de-escalation strategies
