The Role University Hospital Wishaw are looking to recruit a Specialist Nurse - Children's Services - Diabetes. The post holder will provide nursing leadership for specific Paediatric Specialist Service within NHS Lanarkshire in supporting the delivery of nursing skills and knowledge in the care, management and education of children with specific specialist disorders within the hospital and community setting. What we'll need you to bring Registered Sick Childrens Nurse with valid NMC Registration. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills. Effective time management skills Working knowledge of basic information technology. It would be great if you also have Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence Ability to carry clinical equipment e.g. monitoring equipment Ability to carry non clinical equipment eg records, health promotion equipment, laptop & projector Contract type Fixed Term or Secondment for 18 Months Full time 37 hours Please note this is a fixed term post for 18 Months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post. Location and Working Pattern This role will be based in Integrated Community Children's Nursing Service within University Hospital Wishaw.
