Principal Sustainability Consultant Location: Brighton Salary: Starting at £55,000 (dependent on experience) Join one of the UK’s most respected sustainability consultancies as a Principal Sustainability Consultant based in London. The company is recognised for its collaborative and cross-disciplinary approach, offering services across sustainability, building services, acoustics, and more. With an outstanding portfolio of successful projects, they’re looking for a skilled and passionate consultant to lead on major sustainability initiatives. Your Role Will Include: Leading the delivery of large-scale sustainability projects for high-profile clients. Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members. Managing environmental assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM) from concept to completion. Delivering in-depth analysis and modelling – including embodied carbon, circular economy opportunities, overheating, and building performance. Facilitating workshops and engaging with clients and design teams to integrate sustainability into every phase. Ensuring projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations. We’re Looking For: In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations Part L, and experience with IES or Elmhurst software. Strong understanding of Net Zero carbon principles and strategies. Experience delivering thermal comfort and overheating assessments. Ability to support sustainability elements in planning applications. 7–8 years’ experience in sustainability consultancy, ideally in the built environment. A proven ability to lead teams and successfully manage complex projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A true passion for sustainability and making a measurable impact.
