We are currently seeking a Master 500 to join our Marine Division in Northern Europe.
Location
* Northern Europe (UK/Germany/France/Netherlands).
Core Purpose
* OEG operates a fleet of windfarm support vessels (21-26m LOA) and is seeking an experienced Master to take full command of vessel operations, safety, and crew management.
* Responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the vessel, its machinery, equipment, and all personnel onboard.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Vessel Command and Operational Management:
* Overall responsibility for safety management, navigation, performance, and upkeep of the vessel.
* Management of vessel machinery and associated equipment.
* Ensure efficient daily operations in line with company and client expectations.
* Oversee maintenance standards and rectify defects where possible.
* Keep management fully informed during repair periods.
Safety, Compliance and SMS:
* Implement and promote OEG’s Safety and Environmental Policy.
* Lead safety and pollution prevention activities onboard.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and industry guidelines.
* Maintain validity of all statutory and vessel certification.
* Liaise with the DPA to ensure SMS compliance and coordinate audits.
* Review contingency plans and ship procedures, reporting deficiencies as required.
* Ensure proper use of OEG’s documentation and reporting systems.
* Report operational defects or risks impacting safety or pollution prevention.
Crew Leadership and Development:
* Ensure all marine crew are suitably qualified, medically fit, and competent.
* Motivate, lead, and issue clear instructions to crew.
* Coordinate and appraise onboard training requirements.
* Deliver onboard training to support development and progression.
* Maintain overall responsibility for onboard safety and fire-fighting organisation.
* Oversee medical care onboard, delegating where appropriate.
Navigation and Equipment:
* Ensure care and maintenance of all electronic navigational aids and communications equipment.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience on vessels >500gt.
* STCW Master 500 CoC, UK FSE or higher.
* 2 years’ experience in a similar command role.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
* Highly organised with logical problem-solving ability.
* Calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
* Right to work in the UK and Frontier Work Permit.
Qualifications
* All relevant STCW certification and valid Seafarer Medical.
