Job Description
Overview:
We are working with an exciting contractor in the Utilities sector who have won a strong pipeline of work and is therefore recruiting a hands-on Project Manager to lead delivery. The role is currently water-industry biased and ideal for an experienced site supervisor or project professional ready to step into a senior, autonomous delivery role. The position combines remote and office working with regular site visits and occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead day-to-day delivery of utilities projects (water, gas, electricity) from mobilisation to close-out.
2. Plan, programme and control scope, cost and schedule to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
3. Manage site teams, contractors and supervisors; provide technical leadership and act as the escalation point for complex site issues.
4. Oversee construction, commissioning and maintenance activities, ensuring high quality and compliance with specifications.
5. Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance (WIRS, NERS, GIRS) and maintain required site records.
6. Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, designers, statutory authorities and third-party stakeholders.
7. Produce and maintain project documentation: risk registers, method statements, progress reports, change control and client communications.
