A whiz with a whisk, a maestro with a mandoline, and generally someone who can make magic happen with mere mortal ingredients?
Able to handle the heat (both literally and figuratively) without spontaneously combusting into a cloud of flour?
Someone who understands that "mise en place" isn't a fancy French dance move, but the key to a smooth service?
Possessed of a cracking sense of humour and the ability to laugh off the occasional culinary catastrophe (we've all been there with the exploding soufflé)?
