1. East Suffolk Council, Melton (IP12 1RT) or Lowestoft (NR33 OEQ) (depending on candidates’ preference)
2. Year 1 - £8.47 per hour; Year 2 – £11.44 per hour
3. 37 hours per week
4. 21-month training contract
5. Start date – 2 September 2024

A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic apprentice to join East Suffolk Council as an Administration Apprentice (Economic Development) .
Our team is responsible for improving the lives of local residents through economic factors (such as their education, their skills, and their employment opportunities) and the economic conditions for key sectors and local businesses to thrive (such as business support, inward investment, sector development, and town centre support).
Your role
Your role would be to provide administrative and project support, and to research, collate and monitor economic data and intelligence to help inform the teams direction. You would also support with maintaining technical systems and databases, support with grants programmes and assist with communications through the East Suffolk Means Business website and social media channels.
You will need:
You will need to have good interpersonal skills and IT skills and a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or grade 4 -9 (or equivalent). No previous administrative experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Apprenticeship open evening!
We are pleased to announce that we will be holding two open evenings at our Melton and Lowestoft offices. This will give you the opportunity to find out more about East Suffolk Council’s apprenticeship scheme, learn more about each of our available opportunities direct from the placement managers and ask any questions you have. The open evenings are taking place on the following dates -
6. 14 May 2024, 5.30pm – 7.00pm at the East Suffolk House offices (Riduna Park, Station Road, Melton, Woodbridge IP12 1RT)
7. 16 May 2024, 5.30pm – 7.00pm at the Riverside Offices (4 Canning Road, Lowestoft, NR33 0EQ)
