Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Engineer with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry based in Aberdeen.
Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:
* Executing assigned scopes of work
* Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
* Providing discipline expertise to the business
* Coaching and mentoring as delegated
* Manage and supervise direct reports
Process Ownership:
* Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
* Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
* Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
* Provide discipline support to the business
Responsibilities
* Provide input to piping and layout studies
* Define piping design requirements for technical scopes
* Development of deliverables and documentation required for use in offshore workpacks and in the supply chain
* Support the development of and/or develop requisitions for the procurement of piping related material and equipment
* Undertake design checking of piping deliverables
* Provide support to the Lead Piping Engineer and the project delivery team
* Provide piping design technical expertise to the project
* Resolve piping related design issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
* Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of piping designs
* Provide support for interdiscipline considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking
* Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirememts of Senior Piping Designer
* Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aide in continuous improvement
* Utilise software tools in design development and checking (eg PDMS, Navisworks, E3D)
Qualifications
* MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience
* Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent
* Competent in own discipline to provide support to the business
* Demonstrate current knowledge with industry and technology development within discipline
* Communication in written and spoken forms
* Participate in audit and incident investigations as required
