Gemini Worktops is a rapidly growing family-owned business. Due to continued and significant growth, we are now looking for an experienced, professional, and detail orientated Stock yard & material handler to join our growing team.
We are seeking a reliable and proactive person to join our busy quartz worktop fabrication business. This role is critical to the smooth running of our production process and involves managing and handling stone slabs in the yard, maintaining accurate stock levels, and working closely with the production team to meet daily and weekly output targets.
Stock yard & material handler - £29,325 (includes shift allowance) plus overtime opportunities - Full Time - Permanent
This role would suit experienced stock yard or materials handlers who have experience of handling heavy/fragile materials, using a range of stock handling equipment including winches and powered trucks and has a sound understanding of working in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
* Unload quartz slab deliveries with the overhead crane
* Safely handle and move large quartz slabs from yard storage to workshop machines using appropriate lifting equipment (e.g., forklifts, A-frames, cranes).
* Accurately receive, check, and record incoming stone deliveries.
* Ensure correct materials are staged in advance according to the production plan.
* Perform regular stock checks and full monthly stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stock yard, ensuring slabs are stored safely and logically.
* Communicate with the production and sales teams to flag low stock levels or potential shortages.
* Operate handling equipment in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
* Update inventory systems and stock records as required
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Experience handling heavy materials (ideally granite/quartz or similar building materials).
* Forklift or crane operating license (desirable but not essential – training can be provided).
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to read and follow production plans and material requirements.
* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
* Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
* Previous experience in a stone, construction, or fabrication environment.
* Knowledge of relevant safety standards, codes, and best practices in industrial settings.
* Strong attention to detail, time management, and task prioritization skills.
* Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
* Basic IT skills or familiarity with stock management systems.
* Understanding of factory production workflows and quality assurance processes.

Shift and schedule
* Monday to Friday, 2 shift rotation 06:00-14:30 & 13:30 – 22:00.
* Weekend overtime availability.
