Overview
Our client is a leading charity based in the Northwest that provides specialist care and support to people with learning disabilities and mental health challenges. They are seeking a Director of Business Development to drive growth across current and future service lines and locations. The role is suitable for someone with a senior sales background in Health and Social Care, capable of building relationships with commissioners, housing partners, and other key stakeholders. The position is based in the Northwest, with regular travel to sites and partner locations.
This is a senior, strategic role that will work closely with the wider business development functions and other senior leaders to deliver growth targets.
Responsibilities
* Lead the growth agenda with a systematic approach to key accounts, ensuring the organisation can deliver what commissioners need now and in the future, including complex provision for people with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health conditions.
* Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Finance, Estates, IT and Governance to deliver growth targets.
* Develop a structured approach to business growth based on key account management, partnerships and the service models offered by the business.
* Strengthen relationships with commissioners (local authorities and Integrated Care Boards), understand their needs in detail, and identify housing or intermediate living provision to meet commissioning needs.
* Build partnerships with local property developers and investors to increase capacity for housing and care provision.
* Track progress against growth plans and present updates to senior stakeholders and the charity's Board.
* Ensure efficient, effective, and responsive processes for opportunities including tenders, schemes, and single-person opportunities.
* Act as a customer-facing leader within the senior leadership team, championing and delivering growth across functions.
* Represent the business at regional and national events to raise corporate profile.
* Maintain senior relationships with developers and housing providers to enable growth.
* Develop a detailed understanding of the current service offerings and identify opportunities in the local market, including competitor landscape and future demand.
* Ensure marketing plans support the business growth strategy in collaboration with the marketing team.
We need you to have
* 5+ years in a senior business development and partnerships role in a Health and Social Care organization, with significant exposure to property sourcing and estate management.
* Strong communications skills to build and sustain relationship growth.
* Willingness to be mobile, visit properties, meet investors, and close partnerships to secure housing provisions.
* Passion for improving lives and alignment with values that drive excellent care.
* Ability to lead from the front and grow a sustainable business development function.
* Good judgment, situational awareness, and informed decision-making.

* This position is offered as Full Time, remote/hybrid in central Northwest England.
* Salary circa £94,366 (fixed base) with a car allowance.
