Job Title: Teacher – Primary
Reports to: Principal
Professional Duties
* Plan and prepare courses and lessons.
* Teach pupils, setting and marking work.
* Assess, record and report on pupils’ development, progress and attainment.
* Promote the general progress and well‑being of pupils and provide advice and guidance.
* Communicate and consult with parents and external bodies as required.
* Participate in meetings and provide records and reports on pupils’ needs.
* Contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references.
* Participate in staff development schemes and review teaching methods.
* Assist and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and assessment.
* Maintain discipline, order and safeguarding health and safety of pupils.
* Engage in curriculum planning and pastoral arrangements.
* Prepare pupils for public examinations and supervise them during exams.
* Participate in review and development of management activities and administrative tasks.
* Provide staff cover when necessary, following guidelines on enrolments.
Qualifications & Experience
* Hold a teaching qualification recognised for grant‑aided schools in Northern Ireland.
* Minimum of 6 months paid experience in a specialist provision for children with moderate learning difficulties at Key Stage 2.
* Minimum of 3 years paid experience teaching at Key Stage 1 or 2.
* Demonstrated experience using effective classroom strategies for pupils of all abilities including SEND.
* Experience using digital media and technology to enhance teaching and learning.
* Registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI).
Additional Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of Northern Ireland Curriculum, SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding policies.
* Ability to use IT systems and digital classroom tools.
* Effective classroom management, inclusive learning environments, initiative, problem solving, collaboration, and teamwork.
* Evidence of alignment with the school’s values and ethos.
