Responsibilities
* Be a highly specialised lead for SACT delivery, haematology and oncology outpatient services across the organisation.
* Act as a role model and visible leader for clinical areas with responsibility for professional standards, education, research and service development.
* Work with the Clinical Director to embed systems that deliver high-quality, person-centred care with compassion, dignity and respect, achieving good health outcomes.
* Monitor and drive improvements in nursing standards and services through effective systems and processes; evidence nursing contributions to national and local standards.
* Identify risks related to nursing and implement action plans; keep risk registers up to date.
* Lead the development of the nursing research agenda within the Directorate and promote evidence-based practice.
* Monitor patient experience and incidents related to nursing; develop appropriate responses and action plans.
* Ensure infection prevention standards are met and sustainability of patient safety programs.
* Maintain professional accountability to the Nursing & Midwifery Council and act within an ethical framework focused on patient well-being and safety.
* Promote continuous quality improvement using audits, patient feedback and reflective practice.
* Ensure effective communication with the multi-professional team and coordinate patient care across settings, including safe discharge and transitions.
* Provide consultancy on therapeutic interventions, practice and service development.
Qualifications
* Essential: 2 years managerial experience at band 7 or above.
* Desirable: chemotherapy trained.

* UK Registration with the appropriate professional body.
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required.
