Alfanar Energy UK & our subsidiary Lighthouse Green Fuels are developing the largest Advanced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in Europe, utilizing first-of-its-kind technology and attracting a £1.5 billion investment package. We're currently seeking an experienced individual to join us on a staff basis in London as a Senior Environmental Engineer. This key role will work directly with the Project Development Manager to support the delivery of the DCO from scoping through pre-application, examination, to the Secretary of State decision and beyond. It will also support the engineering team on environmental issues.
Responsibilities:
* Manage environmental consultants to develop environmental documentation.
* Coordinate with internal and external technical specialist environmental teams to provide evidence, draft, and review DCO documents supporting the project.
* Ensure environmental compliance throughout the application process.
* Oversee agreements, criteria, and conditions outlined in the Development Consent Order (DCO), collaborating with stakeholders, individual packages, and the Consent team to ensure technical compliance.
* Support the Land Strategy Team in the land acquisition process.
* Review engineering contractor/supplier documentation.
* Interface between engineering disciplines and DCO consultants.
* Produce progress reports and lead progress meetings with contractors and internal teams.
* Maintain and update risk registers, DCO consent registers, and other trackers.
* Review progress and cost reports from DCO consultants.
Who we're seeking:
* 8-10+ years of experience, including on complex, large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
* Experience in developing EIA documentation.
* Some knowledge of the DCO process for complex energy projects.
* Knowledge of environmental aspects of the DCO process.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
