Overview
To provide comprehensive administration support to the Specialist Palliative & Enhanced Supportive Care team.
Responsibilities
* Receiving and processing referrals from internal clinical teams across the Trust for the Inpatient team.
* Receiving and processing referrals from internal & external clinical teams across the county for the Community team.
* Booking outpatient appointments using the patient administration system regularly throughout the day.
* Managing multiple phone telephone calls throughout the day which will require sensitivity, as the post holder may be required to deal with people who have difficulty understanding the situation, or who may be upset and/or aggressive.
* Managing the mail for the team by opening and sorting incoming post, sending out correspondence both internally and externally.
* Undertaking typing tasks as requested by the Secretary Supervisor.
* Undertake work when requested by the secretary supervisor as well as prioritising workload appropriately.
* At the request of the Secretary Supervisor or Admin Manager you may be required to cover colleagues during absences/annual/sick leave etc.
* You may also be required to undertake job rotation for cross cover as well as for development and training purposes.
* Communicate with all levels of staff, such as hospital staff across the Trust, GPs, patients and their relatives.
* Fully participate in the Trusts appraisal system review and personal development planning process on an annual basis.
* Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post and as agreed with secretary supervisor as part of the personal development planning process.
* Achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
