Personal Advisor - Leaving Care Service Location: Office-based attendance required three times weekly with flexible/agile working arrangements Hours: 9.00am - 5.00pm Salary: £27 P/H Important Requirement: Applicants must have experience working with Leaving Care (LAC) cohorts. This is essential for the role. Role Overview: We are seeking a committed and empathetic Personal Advisor to join our Leaving Care Service. The successful candidate will support young people in care to make a successful transition to adulthood, ensuring they are safeguarded and equipped for independence. Key Responsibilities: Support Care Leavers in their transition to independent living. Contribute to the assessment, formulation, implementation, and review of Pathway Plans through direct engagement with young people. Advise and assist Care Leavers in developing practical skills, maintaining tenancies, and managing their finances. Provide coaching and motivational support to enhance young people's confidence and self-esteem. Safeguard Care Leavers through regular contact, ensuring engagement in suitable accommodation, education, training, or employment aligned with their aspirations. Work collaboratively with partner agencies to coordinate service provision and encourage young people's active engagement. Participate in the duty rota, completing duty tasks at least three times per month. Attend team meetings in person. Qualifications and Experience Required: Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent), or possess substantial experience of working directly with children, young people, their families and carers to achieve positive outcomes. Good verbal and written communication skills, appropriate to a statutory setting. Strong organisational abilities to balance direct work, administrative duties, and statutory processes effectively. Proven ability to work collaboratively with professionals, families, and community members to facilitate change. Skilled in needs assessment, planning, and supporting transitions to independence using SMART objectives. Experience working with vulnerable children, young adults, and families in accordance with statutory guidance, including the Children Act 1989 and Leaving Care Act 2000. Previous employment in health, housing, youth services, or employment services where transferable skills have been developed. Top Five Key Skills: Needs assessment and support planning.
