Our teams work collaboratively across disciplines to provide high-quality infrastructure and landscape-led solutions for a wide range of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. We have worked on a variety of exciting and prestigious projects including Nine Elms Square, Escapade Silverstone and Camden Film Quarter. As our business continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our team with the appointment of a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of our expanding portfolio of projects.
The role offers the opportunity to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering design packages, working alongside our civils Director and closely with our structural and landscape architecture teams to deliver integrated development solutions. Cube is a small fast growing company where you can have a real impact.
This role is based at our Exeter office in Exeter Quay. Colleagues spend some of their working week in the office and some days working from home (usually 2-3 days in the office per week).
The Role
You will be involved in the design and delivery of development infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support, including:
* Highways design in accordance with Manual for Streets and DMRB
* Surface water and foul drainage strategies and detailed design
* Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and supporting technical reports
* Design of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
* Liaison with clients, architects, planning consultants and approving authorities
* Coordination within our multi-disciplinary design teams
* Supporting planning applications and technical approval processes including S38, S278 and S104 agreements
Skills & Experience
* Approximately 4+ years’ experience in a civil engineering consultancy environment
* Strong understanding of UK design standards and approval processes
* Ability to manage packages of work and contribute to the delivery of projects day-to-day
* Strong communication and technical reporting skills
* Good team player with demonstrable collaboration skills across teams
* Software experience: MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage / Causeway Flow
Qualifications
* BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
* Working towards Chartership (ICE/CIWEM)
