Junior Electrical Assembler
Location: Crawley (on-site)
Salary: £24,000–£27,000 (depending on experience)
Type: Permanent, full-time
Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Crawley, supplying high-quality electrical and control solutions to customers across multiple industries. They’re now looking to bring in a Junior Electrical Assembler to support the build and wiring of electrical panels and cable assemblies, with clear long-term progression routes for someone keen to develop.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with hands-on wiring experience (or a college/apprenticeship background) who enjoys practical work, can follow drawings accurately, and wants to grow into areas such as PLC control systems or electrical design.
The Role
As a Junior Electrical Assembler, you’ll be involved in the assembly and wiring of electrical control equipment in a structured workshop environment.
Key responsibilities

Wiring electrical panels and control cabinets to specification
*
Building and terminating cable looms and harnesses
*
Reading and working from electrical drawings, wiring schematics and layout diagrams
*
Crimping, stripping, terminating and labelling cables to a high standard
*
Supporting with basic electrical/mechanical assembly where needed
*
Completing quality checks and ensuring builds meet internal standards
*
Keeping a tidy, safe workspace and following workshop procedures
What our client is looking for
Essential
*
Some practical experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, or loom building (industry, college, or apprenticeship)
*
Ability to follow wiring drawings/schematics with good attention to detail
*
Confident using hand tools and basic electrical assembly equipment
*
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable (nice to have)
*
Experience with crimping standards, ferrules, and cable management
*
Familiarity with control panels, DIN rail components, relays, terminal blocks, etc.
*
Electrical qualification or training (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, apprenticeship, BTEC)
