The diversity of our economy and communities and investment in a number of exciting regeneration projects makes our Council a great place to work, learn and make a difference.Your new roleSouthend-on-Sea City Council is looking for reliable, customer-focused individuals to join our Integrated Equipment Service as a Driver / Equipment Fitter.This is a unique opportunity to start or develop a career in Adult Social Care, supporting local residents to live safely and independently in their own homes.About the roleAs part of our busy equipment service team, you will:Deliver and install essential equipment (e.g. beds, hoists, seating)Support people recently discharged from hospital or needing care supportWork across the Southend area in homes and community settingsInteract with service users, carers and professionals in a respectful and supportive wayEnsure equipment is fitted safely and correctlyThis is a hands-on, physical role where no two days are the same.What you'll need to succeedWe are particularly keen to hear from people who are:Good communicators - friendly, respectful and able to put people at easePractical and problem-solving - confident using tools or working hands-onReliable and organised - able to manage their time and workloadTeam players - happy working as part of a supportive teamInterested in helping others - motivated by making a differenceYou must:Hold a full UK driving licenceBe comfortable working in people's homesBe willing to undertake training in equipment fitting and safe workingNo prior care experience?
