The Role
This position involves taking ownership of reviewing and finalising accounts and tax work, ensuring everything meets statutory requirements. You’ll also play a key part in developing junior team members, helping them strengthen their technical skills and confidence.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering a high‑quality client experience and who can ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and support the production of statutory and management accounts
* Review and assist with self‑assessment, corporation tax, and partnership tax returns
* Prepare and review dividend and interest planning calculations
* Build strong relationships with clients through clear, proactive communication
* Provide sound financial guidance and support to clients
* Ensure work is completed on schedule and within agreed budgets
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
* Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
* Review work completed by junior colleagues
* Mentor and support accountants in developing their technical knowledge
* Conduct 1:1s and appraisal meetings with junior team members (with the Team Manager)
* Assist junior staff with internal and external queries
* Ensure all work complies with relevant accounting standards
* Contribute to revenue growth and cost‑effective working practices
Skills & Experience
* A proactive, solutions‑focused approach
* Strong understanding of key tax areas (corporation tax, personal tax, etc.)
* Confident using a range of accounting software
* Excellent communication skills, including presenting to clients
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong commitment to delivering excellent client service
* Previous experience in an accountancy practice, including reviewing others’ work
* Enthusiastic about ongoing learning and professional development
On offer is a salary of up to £50,000 plus a car allowance.
