Location: Varied – Carlisle/West Cumbria/Home-working
Contract: Permanent
Cumberland Council is an ambitious authority that aims to shape public services for the better, building on the best and transforming them for the future.
We want to create and sustain the best set of services for our communities to ensure all our residents are getting the help and support they need. People are our strong point - in our communities and in our staff - and they are continuously the focus of our efforts.
Are you curious, analytical and passionate about turning data into insight? We are seeking a Senior Manager - Performance and Insight who can help us on our journey to becoming a more proactive data driven organisation.
About this opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking person to join our new council as we embark on our transformation journey.
As Senior Manager - Performance and Insight you will ensure that we make decisions that are evidence based, that a culture performance management is developed and embedded across our full range of services, and that we measure what matters to drive improvements that make a meaningful difference to Cumberland’s people and communities.
You will guide and lead the Performance and Analysis team in collating, synthesising, investigating, connecting, visualising and summarising data at all levels. You and your team’s work to interrogate data will provide compelling data-driven analysis of the challenges facing the council and the area, enabling you to advise on strategy, policy, actions to improve performance, and solutions to problems.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is inquisitive and has a passion for finding new and interesting ways of presenting data stories back to people.
You’ll have experience of leading on, and demonstrable skills in, performance management, service improvement, data analysis and visualisations such as high quality data dashboards.
You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to be innovative and have a genuine interest in making a difference and real change for the people of Cumberland. You'll have the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and the confidence to challenge the status quo.
If this sounds like you, then please get in touch.
If you would like to find out more or have an informal conversation about this role, please contact Alex FitzGerald, Assistant Director of Strategy and Policy on alex.fitzgerald@cumberland.gov.uk .
