Senior Buyer – Leeds – Competitive package

You will take ownership of the strategic sourcing and procurement of materials, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production requirements.

Duties:
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure competitive cost and value.
* Procure materials in accordance with specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing requirements.
* Collaborate with suppliers to investigate and resolve quality or delivery issues.
* Identify, evaluate, and develop new and alternative sources for products.
* Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance expectations related to cost, quality, delivery, and service are met.
* Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes by coordinating supplier readiness and material transitions.
* Participate in cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
* Analyse demand signals, forecasts, and MRP outputs to proactively manage material availability.
* Maintain awareness of purchasing policies, regulatory requirements, trade considerations, and market conditions.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
* Purchasing experience in an MRP-driven manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and commodity categories.
* Demonstrated negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
* Experience supporting and implementing change management initiatives.
* Ability to maintain effective relationships with peers, suppliers, and customers.
* Service-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
