A leading provider in the water sector are currently recruiting for a Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis (some flexibility to work from home) in Hattersley.
Role - Materials Buyer / Services Category Buyer
Type - Permanent
Location - Hattersley
Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 + benefits
Key responsibilities for Materials Buyer / Services Category Buyer will not be limited to:
Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business goals, delivering measurable value and cost efficiencies.
Lead strategic sourcing activities, including tendering, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Ensure governance and compliance with procurement policies, frameworks, and financial risk controls.
Drive process and system improvements, promoting sustainability, data accuracy, and best practices.
Report on performance and represent procurement, fostering collaboration, professional development, and industry engagement.
Key skills and experience required for Materials Buyer / Services Category Buyer job applicant and will not be limited to:
Strong communicator and influencer, able to build effective relationships across teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Commercially aware and customer-focused, with solid knowledge of category management, cost drivers, and risk.
Independent and proactive, confidently representing the Procurement function and upholding ethical standards.
Technically proficient, skilled in Microsoft Office and familiar with ethical sourcing practices.
Professionally qualified or developing, ideally CIPS-certified with relevant education and experience in regulated industries.
