About the Role
We are looking to recruit three committed and reliable self employed male personal assistants to join a small team providing high-quality one-to-one support for a bright and sensitive young man with autism and limited verbal communication.
This is a rewarding, long-term role supporting him in the home and out in the community, enabling him to live a fulfilling, calm, and structured life. The work is based within the family home, so professionalism, boundaries, and clear communication are essential.
Hours: Looking for a team of 3 PA's to work part-time (approx. 2 days per week 9am-4pm + minimum 1 Saturday in 3 core hours 11am-3pm)
Key Responsibilities
Daily support includes:
* Helping with morning routines – breakfast, personal care, dressing
* Supporting with swimming and physical activities (must be comfortable using male-only changing facilities)
* Driving to and from activities (an automatic car is available)
* Encouraging and assisting with household routines (e.g. tidying, making bed, laundry)
* Reading and responding to non-verbal communication, supporting focus and understanding
* Explaining and interpreting the environment and social situations
* Keeping him engaged – no mobile phone use except in emergencies or to support him directly
Light domestic tasks:
* Opening shutters/windows, emptying dishwasher, light tidying
* Occasionally carrying items for the parent due to limited mobility (e.g. laundry basket)
Please note: meal prep, ironing, or deeper domestic cleaning is not part of this role – a separate domestic helper is employed for this.
About You
* Male applicants only, due to personal care needs and swimming/changing room access
* Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent
* Able to speak clearly, with no strong accent – essential for communication
* Physically fit and confident in the water (for swimming)
* Experience supporting autistic individuals or non-verbal people is a strong advantage
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
* Comfortable maintaining appropriate professional boundaries in a family home
* Must be self employed
Personality fit is key: We're looking for people who are genuinely committed to the role and the young man's wellbeing. You will need to be kind, observant, and focused, with the ability to build trust and maintain consistency.

* Carers must be available for swimming support on Tuesdays and/or Fridays
* Must be willing to offer flexibility and provide advance notice for any changes
