Position Summary
* Responsible for the maintenance of phyto-remediation tree plantations at Belle Park
* Assist with storm water surveillance sampling
* Assist with monitoring well abandonment, spills response, soil, surface water and groundwater sampling
* Some physical labour required i.e. carrying equipment, walking for long durations along waterfront, and through wooded and swampy areas across the city (in all weather conditions)
* Perform other duties as assigned
Hours of operation are typically Monday – Friday: between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Qualifications, Competencies
* MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2026 – Verification will be required
* Must have completed two semesters of college or university in an Environmental or Engineering program of study
* Must possess and maintain a valid Class 'G'.
* Experience with landscaping equipment considered an asset
* Must demonstrate corporate values of Belonging, Collaboration, Accountability, and Innovation
Skills, Abilities, Work Demands
* Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions
* Able to perform the essential duties of the job such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking for long durations
* Must provide and wear green patch safety shoes during shifts when required
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
* Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
* Judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential information
* Ability to follow instructions and perform assigned duties with limited direct supervision
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check at candidate’s own expense
