You will need to be a current NMC registrant in any branch of nursing or midwifery and meet the academic requirements of the university.
Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa will need to meet the salary threshold. For a limited number of clinical posts, visa route requires the national pay scale or the minimum salary threshold of £25,000, whichever is higher. Please confirm visa sponsorship eligibility for the role.

Contract: Fixed term: 12 months (or secondment if internal).
Hours: 37.5 per week.

Salary: £32,073 - £39,043 pro rata / per annum (Yearly).

Main duties of the job
You will undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Course (Health Visitor) commencing in September 2026 (date to be confirmed) at Wolverhampton University. The course is full time over 52 weeks with 50% academic study and 50% practice experience within a Public Health Nursing Service 0-19 HCP 0-19 Telford Team. Some annual leave is set by the Universities and is non‑negotiable; there may be two weeks within the summer semester where flexibility regarding annual leave will be negotiated with your placement lead. Students are employed on a fixed term contract for the duration of the course under funding from Health Education England.

Qualifications
* Current Registration with the NMC as a Level 1 Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife.
* Degree in Nursing/Midwifery.
* Portfolio evidence of continual professional & academic Development.
* Maths and English Level 2.
Experience
* A wide range of community based, children related or transferable experience.
Knowledge
* IT skills and computer literacy.
* Organisational skills.
* Evidence of continuing post basic training.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of current Government and Local initiatives and how these translate into practice.
* Understanding of Health Visiting and Public Health role.
* Evidence of research‑based practice.
* Evidence of health promotion activities.
* Knowledge of Child Protection legislation.

* Must be able to meet travel requirements of post.
