Overview
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Obstetrics (Maternal Medicine) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 10PA replacement post to provide high quality clinical care for patients presenting with a risk of preterm birth as well as general obstetric care. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to have special interests in other areas for example: high risk pregnancy care, obstetric scanning, pre-term surveillance or termination of pregnancy. This post is associated with out of hours work as part of a 1:17 on-call cover over night and weekends.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality clinical care for patients presenting with risk of preterm birth and for general obstetric care.
* Engage in out-of-hours work as part of a 1:17 on-call rota, including nights and weekends.
* Be open to developing special interests in areas such as high risk pregnancy care, obstetric scanning, pre-term surveillance or termination of pregnancy.
* Collaborate with the obstetric team to support patient care and safety.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and ideally have a CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview.
* Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time or seeking to job-share.
* Demonstrable English language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) as per GMC Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
