Care Home Deputy Manager at Sussex Housing & Care
Oakwood Court, Haywards Heath – a dementia-friendly care home expanding from 33 to 60 beds.
About the Role
We are looking for an organised, caring person with a passion for supporting residents to live their best lives. The Deputy Manager will assist the Care Home Manager in the efficient running of the home, ensuring regulatory and legal requirements are met, residents receive excellent service and care, and the home operates within its agreed budget.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Care Home Manager in day-to-day running of the home, deputising for the manager in their absence to maintain high standards.
* Ensure the home is sufficiently staffed at all times, providing a consistent service to residents and be on call as required.
* Support the Care Home or Head of Care with assessing potential residents, maintaining a high level of occupancy.
* Help identify and address resident, relative and staff issues.
* Ensure the home meets regulatory and legal requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent essential, with willingness to undertake further training.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory position within a care setting.
* Strong ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
* Experience managing staff and facilitating development through learning, supervision and appraisal.
* Understanding of frailty issues in older people.
* Sound knowledge of Fundamental Standards of Quality and Safety.
* Understanding of safeguarding.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good numeracy, literacy, IT skills and willingness to learn new systems.
Employment Details
* Employment Type: Permanent
* Hours: 40 hours per week, including some weekends.
* Pay: £35,924.75 per annum.
* Location: Oakwood Court, Haywards Heath.
